Talking Why paypal alternatives are not successful?

Paypal is the most popular online payment processor. With such a stronghold on the market, it's virtually impossible for anyone to come on and blow everything away. But, ruling the field for 10-12 years is something quite commendable. There are many other Payment processors like e-gold, moneybookers etc and many created every single day.

Most probable reason could be that Paypal has become so popular among people that they don't bother to care about something new, something better. (if there are)

What do you think?:drive:

I agree with your opinion Swastik. Even though there are a lot of other payment processors, Paypal is the most popular like you have mentioned and therefore, people will feel safer to work with them.

Recently there has been a new one named AlertPay (I am sure most of you have heard of it), and when they were first introduced, they said they would become the new way for everyone to pay online (and beat Paypal as well). But as time goes by, they have shown how unreliable there are, in an announcement I have read recently, within only 10 minutes, 78 errors have occurred.

AlertPay is a perfect example, it means that none of the other payment processors would be Paypal in the near future.

Exactly, and that is the reason why people are "afraid" to go with other PP. It is unmatched in terms on quality!

That's because they suck xD

Nah, seriously, that's because Paypal is the pioneer in this. They were the first to offer this kind of service. If you're planning to start your own "paypal" service it will be hard to beat them due to their popularity.

Unless it is something quite amazing and new, it'd be next to impossible.

lol, no one can afford to beat them.

PayPal is a bank. The time and money needed to start a bank is massive.
Your gonna have to fill out mountains of paper.

Really I just think no one has the money needed to beat paypal, and alittle bit that people are afraid of change

AlertPay will never be able to beat Paypal, with only this can show how unreliable they are :

Some PTC sites switched to Alertpay because of Paypal's taxes. Apparently, Alertpay won't charge you any fees for anything so that's why most of these sites adopted it.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I believe that's what happened.

Alertpay is complete garbage.
PTC sites needed to switch to alertpay cause paypal told them to.

They work with referrals, technically a mmr site or something.
Any way, paypal put it in their tos (terms of service) that they will not allow payments to take place on paypal if they have to do with mmr sites.

Im not up to date on my terminology, so ill get back to you and tell you all if its mmr sites or some other letters
