Default How to Create a Search Engine Friendly Website
Could you guys give me some tips on how to go about creating a search engine friendly website. I'd like my new site I am starting to be clean HTML, easy to navigate, and SEO friendly.

Here are some tips that I could think of...

Create Relevant Title Pages

Search engines put some weight to the text showing in the HTML <title> tag of your page. Title should corresponding and relevant to what you got in the page.

Add ALT Text to your Images, Flash and Videos

Search engines can't read the text embedded on the image, vidoes and flash (decently can scan and read the text on flash file).

I agree with Garala. Still I would like to give you some tips:
  1. You have to start from the basic. Because Google may count backlinks as strength of any webpage, but Yahoo! and MSN consider page struction very strongly. So keep all the basics right while you designing the pages.
  2. I heard SE like webpages without TABLE, so you need to use DIV. There is no scientific explanation, but you may try that.
  3. It's important to validate XHTML and CSS to make the basics right. Search Engines will still index unvalidated pages, but valid XHTML and CSS carry some credit.
  4. Always use ALT and TITLE tag for images, flash and other media as search engines can't read those. Recently Google started reading flash files, but Yahoo and MSN still can't read through.
  5. Keep your HTML and XHTML code clean - means keep CSS and Javascript in seperate files.
  6. Keep your URL search engine friendly, not article.php?article=10 but article/how-to-do-search-engine-optimization
  7. No page should be more than three clicks away from homepage
  8. Always use sitemap, may be not in webpage format, but in xml format and submit it to Google Sitemap, Yahoo! Site Explorer and MSN Webmaster
  9. Always try to use more text than images and animations.

But i just don't understand backlinks man. The last time i check there was 200+ for jargoncliq.com. But now, i don't think theres one. don't know what happened.
