I know how to use things like facebook and myspace for marketing.
I also know how to make money using Digg.

But how does social bookmarking work?
I can't figure it out :crazy:

How does it benefit your site other than maybe getting you some hits?

Well, The basic purpose it serves is "Being an online media for people to bookmark the sites that they love". Other than that, it's a relatively recent phenomenon of using those to get traffic to your website and catch attention.

Other than that, I don't quite think that they serve "your site" that much.

You can write an article (in your blog)

Name it "10 Things Every Gamer Needs"

Then, go to amazon (use the affiliate program) get your referral links to 10 awesome things a gamer would like (playstation 3, gaming peripherals, games)

Put those links in your article/blog post.

Make sure you write a decent article and use pictures, maybe link those to amazon too.
Then Write about your post in digg, and link to the article.

Digg your digg post (lol)

Have every one you know (and their mothers) digg the article, hope it gets big and watch your amazon affiliate cash roll in.

Some on DP said he made ove $3000.00 doing this but he made a post about "Best (something) with the word Fuck in it"
