| Administrator ![]() | Anyone recommend phpld? I am thinking of starting a web directory using phpld. Before I buy it, I would like to get your thoughts on phpld. If you use or have used phpld, can you tell me how it is. Thanks! |

No need to look any further. If you go for free, then esyndicat is a goodie. DEMO : Themebrowser for PHP Link Directory |

Users browse the categories to find what they want, that's a directory. You probably don't care if a directory has 500K listings or less, you just browse it to find what suits you. |

DMOZ is considered to be obsolete for a lot of people though, due to the fact it's stack on the 1997 design. I don't deny that i like the clean style it offer myself but on the other hand can't deny that it's becoming obsolete sooner or later. Plus to mention the it-needs-a-year confirmation of submissions.

It could have a similar, clean and neat design, using a table-less CSS layout. It would still be minimalistic and clean. And modern, of course, with better standards. ;) |
