Credits: 0  |  Promotional Ideas for a sports blog Okay, so I started my blog, have some content on it, and I'm getting traffic... sorta. I want to make this pretty big. Do you guys have promotional ideas for promoting a sports blog? (Check my sig to see my blog)

Like people register, and or comment on who they think will win the Superbowl and offer a prize of some kind. You could also do this for baseball playoffs. Have a fantasy football league possibly with prizes. Prizes always bring people in. |

Credits: 6 | Re: Promotional Ideas for a sports blog Well, Advertising is the number one thing. I mean, just advertise, with limit of course, because you don't want to spam forums, because if you get banned, so long your promotion. And submit it to as many sports directories as you can.

Credits: 31 | Re: Promotional Ideas for a sports blog - Join sports forum with a link to your blog in your signature, use an anchor text, something like 'The Amazing Sports Blog' or something creative instead of just 'Sports Blog'. - Keep building links to you blog.. (web directories submission, link exchange, banner exchange, etc.) - Promote it through word of mouth! Tell your friends, grandma, grandmpa, and your family about your sports blog. |

I didn't even think of some of the stuff (i.e. stop saying my sports blog in sigs, submit to sports directories). But my favorite idea was the fantasy football league. The only problem is, I can't offer cash prizes because I'm not making anything off of my blog. What other kinds of stuff do you think people will be interested in?

Everyone likes to feel like they are part of the community. if you start that league you get to know each other, and its all in good competition. It could definitely bring people back to your site. |
