I know that I don't have time to write "on the fly." so I schedule my posts for the next day. This gives me some time to come back and make some edits, and they're published automatically.

I don't. Normally, I just sit and write stuff. If I consider that what I wrote is good enough, then I publish it right away. If not, I just leave it on Draft and finish it later.

However, it'd be good to schedule the posts so you can have more time to read your articles and improve them. Also, that gives you an opportunity to come up with new ideas "on the fly"

Depends. Most of the time, I just post when an idea or thought comes, or I have something I want to write about. Rarely will I post ahead of time or schedule, unless it's something I've been thinking of for some time.
