Credits: 10 | Yes, returning comments is a nice way to show your appreciation to those who commented on your entry and also build some sort of relationship(friendship with them) as i've seen some bloggers coming back and giving me new comments over the time.

Credits: 31 | Yes as Thanoz said, you have to show appreciation by commenting on their blog. It's great way to get comments on each other blogs. |

But I believe that commenting should be natural and you should feel like you want to comment, don't comment just for the sake of "a returning favor"..that's just crap!
