Wordpress, as a blogging platform as well as a CMS is a great tool. Add to that the no. of "free" themes/plugins available to make it better. So you can simply term Wordpress as one of the most customizable free softwares present around. Here is a list of all those plugins which are a must have for your wordpress blog which will help you in Search Engine Rankings, making your as well as your visitor's experience rich. Here we go :

* Akismet - This plugin comes inside the Wordpress Package. All you have to do is to go to Plugins and then activate Akismet.You know that the "virtual world" (internet) is full of scammers and people whom you wont like to see around your blog.This is the filter you need.


* All in one SEO - Simply one of the best plugins for Wordpress. If you take my opinion, it should have been there in the Wordpress package as Akismet. It provides you with the option of adding keywords, description and much more flexibility that will help you in getting better Search Engine Rankings.


* Wordpress Stats - You may have used many programs like Google Analytics, Awstats, Webalizer to track the visitors to your site. Wordpress Stats does that in your blog's admin panel(Your DashBoard).


* Adsense Manager - Dont want to mess up with the codes of your themes? Then this is for you. Just add you Publisher ID and done. Your ads will be displayed on your blog posts, main page etc.


* Google XML Sitemaps - Google loves Sitemaps because it helps the SPIDER to crawl easy. This is the plugin to make GOOGLE happy

Hope you like it. I may have missed some or many of good plugins but then, I am a human and you could add to the list everytime.

What about the automatic updater ?

It automates the whole process of upgrading word press used it 2 times on my blogs and it works perfectly.

It is quite good but it cannot be used in daily puposes. We only upgrade when there is need. However, the 9 plugins are a must have with the metioned conditions ;)

Other than that one and the podcast one i use em all
